The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has launched the tender for the construction of 52 protected homes in Lomo de Maspalomas, a crucial step to meet the housing demand in the municipality.

The public company VISOCAN has initiated the bidding process for the construction of 52 protected housing units in plot R2 of Lomo de Maspalomas. This action is part of the Municipal Strategic Housing Plan and results from the agreement signed between both entities in January 2026.
The mixed contract covers project drafting, construction management, and execution of works. According to municipal sources, this modality will optimize deadlines and accelerate the development of the promotion. The base tender budget amounts to 9.47 million euros, with an estimated execution period of 30 months. The development will also include parking spaces and storage rooms. Offers can be submitted until May 13, 2026.

"This tender is the effective start of the project that responds to a historical demand, after decades without public housing promotion."

Alejandro Marichal · First Deputy Mayor
The construction of these homes will use partially industrialized techniques, combining workshop manufacturing with on-site work. This approach, according to municipal forecasts, seeks to reduce construction times, improve building quality, and minimize the impact of the works.
The first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal, highlighted that this tender marks the “effective start of the municipal project” and represents a response to the historical demand for public housing. For her part, the Housing Councilor, Lucía Jiménez, indicated that this is the first step to develop the agreement with VISOCAN and anticipated that works could begin by the end of 2026.
This initiative is part of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Strategic Housing Plan, which contemplates the construction of more than 260 public homes between 2026 and 2027, with a total investment of approximately 35 million euros. The plan includes 152 homes for sale and 112 for affordable rent, distributed in different parts of the municipality.
