The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has announced an investment of 18 million euros for a future senior residence, with the project currently in its drafting phase. This initiative is part of a broader 28 million euro plan aimed at enhancing social services and housing in the municipality.

The Department for Seniors of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has highlighted the progress of one of the most significant projects of the current term: the construction of a residence for older people. This project has an overall budget of 18 million euros, and its design is currently in the drafting phase, with an initial investment of 600,000 euros.
The necessary budget for the development of this initiative was approved in an extraordinary plenary session held last week. During this session, the required budgetary modification for its execution was carried out through the Mancomunidad de Medianías.

"These actions respond to a roadmap focused on people, with special attention to seniors and social policies, promoting necessary projects to improve the quality of life of our residents."

This boost is part of a series of economic actions that will mobilize 28 million euros by the end of the year, aimed at optimizing services in key areas such as housing, social services, and senior care. These actions are, in turn, part of a global package activated by the City Council, which will mobilize nearly 60 million euros to strengthen public services in the municipality.
In the housing sector, a transfer of 6.6 million euros has been approved for the company Visocan for the construction of public housing, a fundamental measure to address residential demand. Additionally, 1.6 million euros will be allocated through budgetary modifications, primarily focused on social services, senior care, tourism, and economic revitalization.
To strengthen direct citizen care, over 470,000 euros have been allocated, including emergency aid, social intervention programs, technical training, and community activities. This is complemented by an investment of 140,000 euros to improve furniture in day centers and the Alzheimer's center, aiming to ensure more adequate and higher quality care. Furthermore, 131,000 euros are earmarked for subsidies to social entities in the municipality, expanding support for the associative fabric and strengthening social cohesion.
In the urban planning sector, an investment of 487,133.87 euros will be executed for the expropriation of land in El Tablero, which will facilitate progress in land management and unblock pending actions. Economic and tourism revitalization will also receive over 575,000 euros, allocated to events, festivities, and tourism promotion, contributing to generating economic activity in the municipality.
