The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is organizing the Maspalomas Book Fair, a cultural event taking place this Friday, April 24, with a diverse program for children, youth, and families.

The Department of Culture has prepared an intense day at the Maspalomas Cultural Center and the adjacent Plaza del Camellero, with activities scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon. The offerings include workshops for educational centers, theatrical storytelling sessions, literary presentations, a poetry recital, and an educational musical show.
During the morning, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the fair will focus on visits from schools and institutes in the municipality, who will participate in literary workshops and dramatized storytelling. There will also be a talk with a young teacher, publicist, and art historian, who is the author of several titles such as FAE, The Book of Erotic Fantasies and Flying Without Wings.
The Plaza del Camellero will host 11 stands, including that of Librería Primicia, a local reference point. Various writers will have the opportunity to interact directly with their readers and sign copies of their works. Among the participating authors, several will sign in the morning, and others will do so from 5:00 PM onwards.
In the afternoon, between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, the book fair will offer visitors the chance to participate in three creative workshops focused on expanding literary creativity: fantasy world map creation, unusual bestiary character design, and accordion bookbinding with hardcovers. The evening session will also include a poetry recital at 7:00 PM and a family show about the history of music, titled El bolero de Levar, which will close the event.
This fair is part of a broader cultural activity program that the Department of Culture has been developing since April 14, in commemoration of International Book Day. This program includes a sound dramatization of The Little Prince, performed by the Municipal Theater School, which will be offered on Thursday, April 23, at the Maspalomas Cultural Center.
