The demand focuses on the construction of 136 affordable rental homes in Montaña Roja and the allocation of 42 already completed homes in the Los Ajaches residential complex. Noda has submitted a follow-up motion to the Cabildo's Plenary to reinforce a previous agreement and push for concrete dates, budget, and contracting.
The Yaiza City Council ceded 42,000 square meters of public land in Montaña Roja for the development of 136 homes, with an estimated investment of 34 million euros. In the municipality, there are already 400 registered applicants for affordable rent. Noda emphasizes that the City Council and the Cabildo have fulfilled their commitments, and now the responsibility lies with the Government of the Canary Islands to tender and execute the project.

What is missing is for the Government of the Canary Islands to tender and execute. We cannot continue turning a social urgency into a permanent promise."
Regarding the 42 homes in the Los Ajaches residential complex, purchased in January 2025 by the Cabildo with co-financing from ICAVI, the motion demands their immediate allocation. Despite announcements of their delivery before summer, the procedure has not yet been completed, leaving public housing empty while hundreds of people wait.
The State Housing Plan 2026-2030 allocates 371 million euros to the Canary Islands, of which 222.6 million are from state funding. 40 percent of these resources are reserved for public and affordable housing. Noda insists that Playa Blanca must be a priority, given that it has land, a project, and proven demand.
The proposal calls for the tender for the 136 homes to be published within a maximum of sixty days, and for the Government of the Canary Islands to present a detailed calendar within thirty days. It also requires ICAVI to activate or complete the allocation of the 42 homes within the same period, with the aim of delivering them within three months.
A monthly follow-up meeting between the involved administrations is also requested, and the Cabildo must inform the Plenary of the progress. Noda concludes that housing must be treated as a real priority and not a recurring announcement, demanding that construction begin and keys be handed over.
