The Management of Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has published the tender for the execution of the expansion works of the Tinajo Local Health Center. The base budget amounts to 657,526.74 euros.
The project, carried out through a simplified open tendering procedure, includes an execution period of five months from the signing of the contract. Proposals can be submitted until August 10, 2026. This tender follows the review and correction of the initial file.
The expansion will provide the health center with a new medical consultation room, a nursing consultation room, and a multipurpose room, increasing the building's constructed area by 131.42 square meters. This action addresses the need to meet the growing healthcare demand in the area, which has experienced population growth in recent years.
The Tinajo Local Health Center, part of the San Bartolomé Basic Health Zone, manages a total of 6,607 individual health cards, of which 863 are for children. Care is provided by a team of four Family and Community Medicine doctors, one pediatrician, six nurses, one physiotherapist, one midwife, one Nursing Auxiliary Care Technician, one social worker, and three administrative assistants.
Throughout the past year, 2025, the Tinajo Local Health Center recorded 36,898 Family Medicine consultations and 5,968 Pediatric consultations. The Nursing staff handled 21,821 consultations, Physiotherapy 2,399, the Midwife performed 675, and the Social Worker 754.
