The Yaiza City Council has once again put out to tender the project aimed at improving the social club in Uga. This initiative represents the third attempt to carry out the works, after the proposals submitted in 2022 and 2025 did not proceed.
A budget exceeding 758,000 euros is available for this intervention, which will focus on the bowling green and its surrounding area. Once the works are awarded, they are expected to take eleven months to complete and will be executed in front of the municipal building, changing the location from the original proposal which intended to act at the rear.
The comprehensive project includes the construction of a single-story main building to serve as a socio-cultural center, an adjacent open area forming the bowling green, and the conditioning of the nearby environment, including a parking lot with a capacity for 300 vehicles.
The deadline for submitting offers will be August 14. The local government, led by Mayor Óscar Noda, intends for the award to be finalized in the autumn, with the aim of starting the works in 2027.
