The celebrations began on Monday with activities for younger attendees, such as archery and macramé and 'empleíta' workshops at the Mancha Blanca Sociocultural Center. The program will continue with children's activities and the opening of the amusement fair, which will include an inclusive day for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder.
On Wednesday, September 9th, the opening speech will be delivered by Dr. María Teresa Godoy Suárez, representing the workers of the Canary Health Service, followed by performances by Calicanto and Grupo Bohemia. The following day, Thursday the 10th, the 37th Craft Fair will open at 5:30 PM, complemented by workshops, zumba, and an organ concert at the Ermita de Los Dolores.
Folklore will take center stage on Friday the 11th with the Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folkloric Encounter, bringing together groups from various islands, including Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Authorities emphasized the island-wide nature of the festivities, the importance of traditions, and citizen participation.
One of the central events, the pilgrimage and offerings to Our Lady of Los Dolores, will take place on Saturday the 12th, starting an hour earlier and being broadcast by Televisión Canaria. Sunday the 13th will feature masses and musical performances, while Monday the 14th will see young music take center stage with the Merengazo Joven.
The festivities will conclude on Tuesday the 15th with a solemn mass presided over by Bishop José Mazuelos Pérez and Auxiliary Bishop Cristóbal Déniz. The day will culminate with a concert by Malú at 9:00 PM and fireworks at 11:30 PM.
