The municipality of Tinajo has welcomed a new vehicle that will boost the work of its Civil Protection Group. This is a Ford Ranger, whose incorporation will allow for the improvement of material resources available for emergency response, prevention, and support for security operations in the town.
The official presentation took place at the Plaza de Los Dolores, at the foot of the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores. The event was attended by members of the Tinajo Civil Protection Group and the councilor responsible for the area, Yurena Cubas. The absence of the president of the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Security and Emergency Consortium and councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Kiko Aparicio, was excused due to personal reasons.
This new vehicle represents a significant advancement for the operational capacity of Civil Protection, particularly in preventive actions, security deployments, and incident response. It will facilitate the work of volunteers in the municipality.
The acquisition was made possible through a subsidy granted by the Consorcio de Seguridad y Emergencias de Lanzarote (Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium). This aid is part of the collaboration line that the Consortium maintains with the island's city councils to improve the resources of municipal Civil Protection groups.
Yurena Cubas thanked the Consortium for its collaboration, emphasizing that any improvement in Civil Protection resources directly impacts the safety of Tinajo's residents. This acquisition joins previous ones, such as two motorcycles and a Joëlette chair, aimed at strengthening the intervention and assistance capabilities.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who was absent due to another commitment, highlighted the importance of continuing to improve the Group's material resources and valued the annual work of its members. The City Council thanks the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium for its commitment to strengthening municipal emergency services.
