The Yaiza City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, has paid out 6 million euros for supplies, works, services, and subsidies between May and August 2026. This management ensures compliance with freelancers, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as sports and social care entities.
The mayor highlighted that the investment pace is maintained without altering public debt, which remains at zero euros, and that the municipality is experiencing full employment.
Currently, Yaiza has ongoing works totaling 11 million euros. Among the projects are the rehabilitation of Avenida Papagayo (2.6 million), the conditioning of the surroundings of the Uga wrestling ground (1.3 million), the sanitation of Uga (1.8 million), the expansion of the court in San Marcial del Rubicón (1.3 million), and the modernization of the entrance to Playa Blanca via Femés (1.3 million).
Other ongoing actions include the upgrade of the playgrounds in Marcastell (197,000 euros) and Faro Pechiguera (110,000 euros), and the construction of a new road, Azores, near the Health Center of Playa Blanca (924,000 euros). The project for asphalting and accessibility works on seven roads in Las Coloradas, with a contract already signed for one million euros, is also pending.
Regarding significant tenders in Playa Blanca, these include the construction of the library and sociocultural center, improvements to the football field, and the lighting of the old town, with a total budgetary reserve of 6.5 million euros.
Additionally, the City Council expects to award the new waste collection contract, estimated at 36 million euros over 10 years.
