The event will bring together music, folklore, crafts, gastronomy, games, and traditional trades in various streets and buildings of the historic center. The initiative aims to introduce the municipality's heritage and customs to residents and visitors, offering activities for all ages.
The Plaza del Cristo de la Salud will host a significant portion of the musical program, with performances by the company Pieles, the folklore group Tajaraste, and the Parranda de Aldea Blanca presenting ‘Bodas por poderes’. Attendees can also enjoy the show ‘A mi manera’ by Iván Quintana and ‘Timplaria. Las cuerdas que nos unen’ by Laura Martel, which will feature various timple players and soloists from the Canarian music scene.
Casa La Bodega will host exhibitions on Canarian wrestling, the camel culture in Arona, and traditional Canarian clothing. It will also feature a demonstration by the Club de Lucha Chijafe, a ethnography and gastronomy showcooking led by chef Diego Schattenhofer, and the presentation of two publications on Canarian wrestling.
Casa Los Baute will display an exhibition of traditional Canarian clothing from the 18th and 19th centuries, along with a collection of domestic items linked to Arona's popular culture.
The streets of the historic center will also feature specific content. Calle del Medio will be dedicated to childhood games, stories, and traditions, while Calle La Luna will explore traditions associated with Canarian healers and showcase a display of 'rosetas' (traditional crafts). Calle Duque de la Torre will host demonstrations of 'juego del palo' (stick fighting), 'salto del pastor' (shepherd's leap), whistled language, 'cabañuelas' (weather prediction), and 'lenguaje buciado' (a type of vocal communication), alongside workshops on 'chácaras gomeras' (Gomera percussion instruments) and demonstrations of crafts such as weaving on a loom, 'calado' (drawn thread embroidery), 'rosetas', and palm hat making.
Calle Domínguez Alfonso will feature crafts and gastronomy, while Calle El Calvario will include a gastronomic and rest area, traditional representations, a livestock exhibition, and a recreation of its role in Arona's traditional economy during the first half of the 20th century. There will also be demonstrations of 'salto del pastor' and 'juego del palo', a horse shoeing demonstration, and a tasting of wines and cheeses.
The program also includes an exhibition of classic and historic vehicles on Calle González del Yerro, the artistic proposal ‘Fusionarte en tradición’, and a collective exhibition by Arona artists at the Town Hall, along with other displays and activities throughout the historic site. Street parades and theatrical performances will bring popular customs and scenes to life.
