This resource allows for intervention when animals, due to escapes or abandonment, are found in public roads and spaces. Snakes, tarantulas, iguanas, and other exotic species are among those that may require this type of intervention, ensuring proper handling by qualified personnel.
The service includes the search, capture, collection, and transfer of specimens to authorized centers where they can receive necessary care until their possible relocation is determined. It also includes technical advice for identifying exotic or potentially dangerous species and assessing reported incidents.
In addition to direct animal care, the collaboration with the Neotrópico Foundation incorporates a training and awareness component. Actions are planned for Local Police officers, Civil Protection personnel, and municipal staff to facilitate species identification and establish response guidelines for potential incidents.
Educational activities are also planned for Infant and Primary Education students to address the risks associated with invasive exotic species, their consequences on ecosystems, and the importance of avoiding animal abandonment.
