On the island of Tenerife, there are still establishments that prioritize authenticity over luxury, standing out for their homemade food and self-produced wine. One such place is a well-known bodegón, which continues the tradition of Canarian cuisine.
Content creators specializing in local gastronomy have shared their experience at this establishment, highlighting its traditional character. They described the place as unpretentious, where the focus is on homemade food and friendly service.
“"This place is the typical traditional one from before. Don't expect luxuries, just homemade food and close attention."
Located on the ground floor of a family home, the bodegón retains the essence of old-fashioned guachinches. Its offerings include its own harvest wine, both white and red, which is produced and sold for approximately 28 seasons each year. The establishment opened its doors on February 15 and is scheduled to close in June, once the wine production is depleted.
During their visit, diners were able to sample several signature dishes, such as a chickpea stew, praised for its flavor and cooking point, and homemade croquettes prepared by the owner's daughter. They also tried rabbit served with french fries, a hearty dish, and timba, a traditional Canarian dessert.
The establishment, located at El Brezal Street, 87, in Los Realejos, offers parking for its customers. Although it does not have a card machine, requiring cash payment, it has received a 4.5-star rating on Google, where customers highlight the quality of its homemade food and affordable prices.
Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Fridays and Saturdays, hours are extended from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while on Sundays it opens from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
