An investigation by the National Police has uncovered an alleged scam involving aesthetic treatment and laser hair removal clinics, with 172 victims identified across the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Authorities have charged the company's sole administrator and general director, and identified three other individuals allegedly involved.
The investigation began after a client filed a complaint in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, having booked several treatments at a clinic that suddenly closed. This complaint was followed by numerous others from different customers, revealing a common pattern across the archipelago.
Police inquiries confirmed that the company's management continued to offer and charge for beauty and laser hair removal treatments, despite being aware of the company's precarious financial situation and its inability to provide the contracted services.
The company had outstanding rent and payroll debts while still attracting new clients and generating revenue. Consequently, many users paid upfront or financed treatments they never received, with at least 40 affected individuals not having had a single session.
The case has been transferred to the National High Court due to the high number of victims, the existence of multiple companies linked to the same administrator, and potential impact in other parts of the country.
