Air Canada will inaugurate direct routes between Canada and Tenerife starting in October, extending throughout the winter season, which will strengthen the island's connectivity with North America.

The Cabildo de Tenerife has announced that Air Canada will begin operating non-stop flights from Toronto and Montreal to the island. These new connections will start in October and are initially planned to run until April, covering the entire winter season.
The island corporation detailed in a statement that three weekly flights will be established: two from Toronto and one from Montreal. These routes are designed to facilitate the arrival of travelers from Canada and the United States, considered strategic and high-value markets for the Canarian destination.
Flights from Toronto to Tenerife South will commence on October 25, operating on Thursdays and Sundays to the island, with return flights on Mondays and Fridays. The connection from Montreal will start on October 31, with departures on Saturdays to Tenerife and return flights on Sundays.

"One of the most important objectives is to expand and strengthen strategic connectivity, especially in those source markets that are suitable to contribute to the repositioning of the destination and with an increasingly diversified and attractive offer."

Lope Afonso · Vice President and Tourism Counselor of the Cabildo de Tenerife
The Cabildo emphasizes that this direct connectivity not only improves the influx of high-spending tourists but also facilitates travel for residents and individuals with professional or academic ties between both continents. In 2025, Tenerife received 38,119 passengers from Canada and the United States, of which 8,026 came from Canada, a significant increase compared to the 3,331 recorded in 2019. The main Canadian source cities are Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
For her part, the CEO of Turismo de Tenerife, Dimple Melwani, highlighted that this alliance with Air Canada will allow Tenerife to be positioned not only as a holiday destination but also as a global hub for business, corporate tourism, the audiovisual and cultural industry, and cruise tourism with combined itineraries. The flights will be operated with Air Canada's new Airbus A321XLR, with a capacity for 182 passengers.
