The lifeless body of a 42-year-old man was recovered from the water on Thursday afternoon, June 4th, off the coast of Boca Cangrejo, in El Rosario, Tenerife. The incident occurred around 7:20 PM when the 112 Coordination Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) received an alert stating that several people had pulled a man out of the sea, who was found floating face down near the coast.
Following the alert, CECOES promptly mobilized various emergency resources. Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC), including a basic life support ambulance and a medicalized ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, Local Police officers, and Civil Guard personnel also attended.
Upon arrival, medical staff confirmed the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers performed by the SUC teams, their efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and his death was confirmed at the scene.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this event. Firefighters collaborated with the other security and emergency services during the operation.
