The XI Canary Islands Gastronomic Fair, known as GastroCanarias 2026, is set to take place at the Tenerife Exhibition Centre from May 19 to 21, introducing significant new features and solidifying its position as a sector benchmark.

This eleventh edition will maintain its usual structure of exhibition areas, training classrooms, and professional activities, while incorporating new content to address current sector trends. The event will bring together nearly 80 exhibitors and 205 stands from food, equipment, and food solutions companies, fostering networking and promoting Canarian gastronomy.

"GastroCanarias has consolidated itself as one of the great platforms for the promotion and projection of gastronomy in Tenerife and throughout the archipelago. This eleventh edition once again demonstrates the strength of a key sector for our economy and our identity."

Among the main novelties are four new official championships that expand the fair's competitive landscape. These contests will focus on dynamic market areas such as bar recovery, the rise of breakfasts, artisan bakeries, and specialty coffee shops. The 1st Canary Islands Russian Salad Championship, the 1st Canary Islands Breakfast Toast Championship, the 1st Canary Islands Artisan Bakery Championship, and the 1st Canary Islands Barista Championship will debut.
Additionally, GastroCanarias 2026 will host a total of 14 official championships across various disciplines, including cooking, table service, coffee, and mixology. The event will also feature the presentation of El Reto de Masterchef World Tenerife 2026, a digital version of the popular culinary competition.
Another significant innovation is the introduction of a guest destination, with Galicia being the first region to participate under this new format. This initiative aims to broaden the event's scope and strengthen its connection with other relevant territories in the national gastronomic scene. The fair will also enhance its program with new spaces for analysis and professional debate, such as the Gastronomic Trends Talk Hub on the Heineken Stage, which will address strategic issues for the sector.

"GastroCanarias represents a magnificent opportunity to highlight local products and to remember that behind the excellence of Canarian gastronomy is, first and foremost, the work of professionals in the primary and agri-food sectors."
