The configuration of the Spanish Second Division for the 26/27 season, known as the Hypermotion League, is taking shape, and CD Tenerife can already glimpse most of its future rivals. The league promises to be a true 'mouse trap', as some of its protagonists have dubbed it, due to the high competitiveness and the presence of clubs with great tradition and fan bases.
The league will feature teams that have competed in European competitions and boast thousands of season ticket holders, which has significantly increased the value of audiovisual rights. Among the newly relegated teams from the First Division are Real Mallorca and Girona, who, along with Real Oviedo, will be considered favorites and under pressure to achieve promotion quickly. These three clubs join other historic teams aiming to establish themselves in the second tier.
CD Tenerife, after a solid promotion, will approach the season with the primary goal of remaining in the division, though without abandoning ambition. The competition might also see the presence of reserve teams, such as Real Sociedad, and the potential revival of Canary Island derbies if UD Las Palmas fails to secure promotion to the First Division.
The league is expected to kick off around August 15th, although there is a possibility of a delay to August 22nd by the footballers' union. Next week, it will be determined whether Leganés or Mirandés are relegated, adding a final detail to the rival map. Tenerife's schedule will include trips to destinations such as Andorra and Ceuta.
