CD Tenerife footballer Maikel Mesa has been sentenced to eight months in prison and a 1,200 euro fine for assault and battery charges after attacking a judge.

The player, Maikel Mesa, has been sentenced to eight months in prison and ordered to pay 1,200 euros after being found guilty of assault and battery. The incident occurred last Sunday when the footballer and two friends insulted and attacked a man walking on Antonio Zerolo Herrera street in La Laguna, who turned out to be an active judge.
According to the court ruling, Mesa delivered a punch to the victim's jaw. Before that, the group had shouted "damn bald" at him. When the man reprimanded their behavior, one of the companions touched his shoulder and threatened him. Subsequently, the three youths pinned him against a wall, kicked him in the back, one of them headbutted him in the nose, and Maikel Mesa landed the punch.
After the assault, the victim followed them while calling emergency services. Upon realizing he was recording, the aggressors attempted to snatch his phone. Finally, Maikel Mesa left the scene in a vehicle with one of his companions.
