Celta Fortuna secured a crucial victory, bringing them within six points of Tenerife in the race for promotion to Segunda División, as the Canary Islands team awaits its upcoming match.

Celta Fortuna achieved an important win this Friday, defeating Cacereño 3-0 at Balaídos, reaching 60 points in the standings. This result places them just six points behind Tenerife, who are yet to play their match of the 33rd round this Saturday at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López against Arenas at 5:30 PM.
Should the white-and-blue team secure a victory in their upcoming match, they will maintain a nine-point lead over the Vigo reserve team. In the event of a draw or defeat, the difference would be reduced to seven or six points, respectively. It is worth noting that the head-to-head goal difference favors the Tenerife side.
The maximum points Celta Fortuna could achieve, if they win all their remaining matches, is 75. This means that Tenerife's promotion to Segunda División would be mathematically confirmed if they accumulate nine points from the 18 still available. However, this high demand would only apply if the Vigo reserve team achieves a perfect record of victories, which is unlikely.
If the representative team wins this Saturday, they could seal their objective next week by repeating their victory at El Toralín and if Celta B loses their visit to Pontevedra on the same day. Otherwise, Tenerife will have more opportunities in the remaining four matchdays, starting with the clash against Ponferradina.

"There are strange things, yes. I don't know if they are strange, because there are even stranger things that I won't mention because otherwise, it would cause a... In football, there are things you can't do anything about, they just are."

the Tenerife coach
Next week, Celta Fortuna will once again play before Tenerife, with matches scheduled for Saturday at 3:15 PM and 5:30 PM. This situation has been described as "strange" by the Tenerife coach, who has expressed his suspicions about the recurrence of this scheduling in the calendar.
