The family of Nala, a large Tibetan Mastiff, has issued an urgent appeal to locate their pet, who disappeared on February 13 in Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife.

Since February 13, the family of Nala, an imposing female Tibetan Mastiff, has been living with the anguish of not knowing anything about her whereabouts. The dog disappeared in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, specifically in the area of El Palmar – Las Lagunetas, on the Las Huertas path, and since then, no trace has been found.
What began as an intensive search through trails and ravines has turned into a painful suspicion for her owners. Given the animal's unique physique and the prolonged time without any sightings in the wild, the family fears that Nala might be held by someone on private property.
Her owners' hope lies in the dog's distinctive characteristics. Nala is a black and tan Tibetan Mastiff, of large size and a remarkably noble character. This breed is extremely rare in Tenerife, making her easily recognizable to any resident or hiker in the area.

"For us, she is not just a pet; she is a member of our family, and her absence is causing us great pain."

Nala's owners have posted flyers throughout the area and spoken with numerous neighbors, but they have not obtained any solid leads indicating whether the animal went up into the mountains or down the road towards the urban center. They confess the difficulty of explaining to their young children why “Nalita” has not yet returned home.
In a desperate attempt to recover their companion, the family has offered a financial reward to anyone who may have her. Furthermore, they have sought to convey a message of reassurance, stating that they will not retaliate against anyone who found her, but rather, will reward them. The hypothesis that someone might have her without being aware of the active search on social media is gaining traction.
Therefore, they ask residents of Buenavista, as well as hunters and hikers who frequent the Las Huertas paths, to pay special attention to any barking or the presence of a large dog on neighboring properties. The family insists that Nala could be anywhere on the island and requests public cooperation. Any information, however minimal, can be communicated to the phone number 603 594 604, guaranteeing total discretion and infinite gratitude.
