National Police have arrested a passenger at Tenerife South Airport after discovering he was carrying 880 grams of hashish internally, concealed within 79 capsules.

The individual arrived on a flight from Agadir, Morocco. During border checks, National Police officers observed suspicious signs that prompted further investigation with the assistance of several research units.
Following the detected suspicions, a medical examination confirmed the presence of narcotic substances within the passenger's body. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital for medical supervision during the process of expelling the 79 capsules.
A total of approximately 880 grams of hashish were seized, divided into packages intended for internal transport. This method, while aiming to evade detection, carries significant health risks for the individual, as a ruptured capsule can lead to severe complications.
The investigation is being conducted as a suspected offense against public health, as defined by the Penal Code. Officers are working to determine the origin and destination of the substance, as well as any potential involvement of other individuals in the smuggling operation.
This operation is part of the routine controls conducted by the National Police at border crossings and airports with international connections. After the seizure and completion of police procedures, the detainee was handed over to the competent judicial authority.
