The hospital, affiliated with the Canary Islands Government's Department of Health, thus maintains satisfaction levels similar to previous years. The annual survey, conducted by the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), aims to measure the perceived quality of care and understand patient satisfaction.
In the 2025 edition, 455 patients participated, of whom 58.70% were men and 41.30% were women. The predominant age group was between 50 and 69 years old, and 70 years or older. 67.20% of respondents were admitted through the Emergency Department, and 36.90% stayed for less than 5 days. Out of 516 discharges recorded during the survey period, 470 questionnaires were collected.
Patients highly rated the Spine Unit, as well as services such as Pneumology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Digestive Diseases, and Angiology and Vascular Surgery. Users of surgical services expressed high satisfaction with the information received regarding their illness progression and performed tests.
The attention from medical and nursing staff continues to be a strong point. 98% of respondents were satisfied with the medical care, and 99.3% with the treatment from nursing staff. Furthermore, 81.78% knew their doctor's name, and 98.89% stated that ward staff addressed them by name.
Regarding respect for privacy, 98.68% of respondents were satisfied, and 95.92% confirmed receiving information and consent before tests or procedures. Information about illness progression and tests was considered adequate by 97.97%, while 98.20% reported being adequately informed about home care or treatment plans.
Hospital signage was also positively evaluated, with 91.33% of respondents finding the facility well-signposted and easy to navigate.
