Two injured, one a minor, in multi-vehicle collision on Las Palmas' Avenida Marítima

An incident involving four vehicles on the GC-1 caused significant traffic jams and required the transfer of those affected to hospitals.

Two individuals, one of them a 7-year-old minor, sustained injuries of varying severity this Thursday after a multi-vehicle collision involving four cars on the GC-1, near the Avenida Marítima in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The incident occurred around 1:00 PM, close to the Vegueta neighborhood, and caused considerable traffic congestion on the road. The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) received the alert about the collision, which involved four vehicles and one person trapped.
Healthcare personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended to the 36-year-old woman and the injured minor at the scene. Both were subsequently transported for medical attention.
The 36-year-old woman was taken to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, while the 7-year-old minor was transferred to the Hospital Universitario Materno Infantil de Canarias.
The Local Police managed traffic in the area affected by the accident and initiated the relevant report to determine the causes of the incident.
