The current playing surface at the stadium has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced by the company Hardisson Jardinería. The renovation project, commissioned by the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, will commence next week. The absence of scheduled concerts and competition during June is expected to facilitate the completion timeline.
Julio Luis Pérez, vice-president of Costa Adeje Tenerife, confirmed the works in an interview with Deportes Cope Tenerife, describing it as an "interesting project." Pérez also mentioned the installation of two new video scoreboards and stated that while the stadium's "insides have become outdated," a well-executed renovation would transform it into a "fantastic coliseum" for football.
There is internal discussion within the club regarding the possibility of requesting LaLiga to play the first match of the 2026/27 season away from home, a request typically granted for stadium renovations or pitch changes. However, starting at home, scheduled for the weekend of August 15th and 16th, is considered desirable to leverage the Heliodoro's home advantage.
A Master Plan detailing the roadmap for the comprehensive renovation of the stadium will be published soon. This plan, which required corrections by Gestur at the request of technicians from the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, will address the progressive renewal of changing rooms, pitch access areas, the press zone, and the stadium's exteriors. It also includes plans to increase capacity and commercial opportunities for the venue.
