CD Tenerife suffered its most significant defeat of the season, losing heavily 5-0 to a superior CD Castellón at Castalia, in a match corresponding to the sixth round of LaLiga Hypermotion.

The white-and-blue squad, which arrived at the match with ten points after defeating Leganés, was outplayed from the start by a Castellón side that imposed its style of play and punished Tenerife's defensive errors. The change in system and the novelties introduced by coach Álvaro Cervera proved ineffective against an opponent determined to defend its league leadership.
The scoring opened in the 10th minute with a goal from Diego Barri, who beat Dani Martín after a quick attacking combination. The initial blow affected a Tenerife side that couldn't find a way to stop the home team's mobility and pressure. Shortly after, Maty Orozco extended the lead, and Ousmane Camara capitalized on a defensive error to establish the 3-0 before the half-hour mark, leaving the match practically decided.
After halftime, Cervera attempted to change the game's course with substitutions, and Tenerife showed a brief reaction, playing closer to the opponent's area. However, Castellón quickly regained control and scored two more goals: the fourth by Pablo Santiago and Camara's second, sealing the definitive 5-0 and igniting the celebration in Castalia.
The white-and-blue defense proved incapable of containing Castellón's speed and offensive dynamism. This defeat represents a significant setback for Tenerife, who remain with ten points, while Castellón reaches sixteen and strengthens its lead in Segunda División.
Beyond the result, the main concern lies in the team's performance, which was far from the competitive and recognizable version shown until now. The heavy defeat necessitates an analysis of the numerous errors committed and a swift recovery of the team's identity.
