The National Police has successfully apprehended a fugitive in Arona, southern Tenerife, who was subject to a European arrest warrant issued by Polish authorities for more than 40 serious offenses.

The individual was wanted for crimes against persons, illegal manufacturing and possession of weapons, drug trafficking, and fraud, with a maximum cumulative sentence that could reach 485 years in prison. The investigation began in September 2025, following a request for cooperation from Polish authorities regarding the possible presence of the wanted person in Spain.
The fugitive employed strict security measures to avoid detection. Despite this, agents managed to locate him in southern Tenerife, where he resided with his family. During an initial arrest attempt, the escapee managed to evade the officers by detecting their presence, fleeing into his home and jumping from a rear balcony from a height of approximately five meters.
Subsequently, in February, he again eluded authorities during a traffic stop, where he was using false documentation. On that occasion, he fled in his vehicle, endangering both officers and other drivers, and even colliding with several cars.
Following further investigative work, agents located the fugitive hidden in a house on a dead-end street, a location that facilitated his potential escape. The arrested individual remained constantly alert, not straying from the home and keeping the entrance door open at all times. Finally, last Wednesday, a special operation involving the Special Operations Group (GOES) was established, leading to his arrest while the fugitive was walking his dog and attempted to flee on foot back to the residence.
