Gran Canaria timple player Hirahi Afonso is concluding the tour for his second album, Lo puro, with two concerts in the capitals of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where he will showcase his "definitively unified" musical style after an international journey.

The artist will perform on Saturday, April 25, at Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and on May 22 at the Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Both events will start at 8:00 PM and will feature the accompaniment of musicians Ner Suárez Álvarez, Julia Rodríguez Hernánde, Antonio Luis Torres Vega, and Alberto Manuel Limiñana Oliva.

"They tell me I'm renewing the timple. But in reality, I'm not doing anything that others with more common styles aren't doing. What I do believe I'm achieving is a better understanding of my sound universe."

the musician
The musician has collaborated with various artists on his albums, Memento and Lo puro, highlighting the participation of figures such as Valeria Castro and Pedro Guerra. Recently, he also appeared alongside Quevedo in the presentation of the song Ni borracho, which will be part of the singer's new album.
After a year and a half of performances, the tour has taken the timple player to international stages in Mexico and the Womad in England, as well as cities like Barcelona and Madrid. The artist has noted that, although audiences are different, the connection with music is universal, emphasizing the surprise the timple generates in foreign cultures.
The artist had prominent timple players like José Antonio Ramos and Domingo Rodríguez 'El Colorao' as teachers. Since the age of five, the musician has explored the instrument's possibilities beyond traditional folklore, seeking new sounds and blending influences, while always maintaining tradition as the foundation of his music.
The album Lo puro fuses deep folklore with electronic music, urban timbres, Cuban influences, and jazz, reflecting the timple player's artistic evolution. The musician has expressed his satisfaction with the album's reception and his excitement to close the tour at the Teatro Guiniguada with a special show that will include all the album's tracks.
