A serious accident on the TF-5 highway, at kilometer marker 43 in Los Realejos, Tenerife, involved four vehicles and required a significant emergency response.

A severe traffic incident occurred on the TF-5 highway in northern Tenerife, near kilometer marker 43 in the municipality of Los Realejos. The collision, which involved two motorcycles and two cars, resulted in a strong impact and necessitated a large-scale emergency response, including a medical helicopter.
The events unfolded around 1:37 PM, when the Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received multiple calls reporting a severe collision near the El Mirador service station. The operations room immediately activated the high-priority emergency protocol.
In addition to the air ambulance, several basic life support ambulances, Guardia Civil de Tráfico patrols, and road maintenance personnel from the Cabildo de Tenerife were dispatched to the scene. Traffic on the highway had to be temporarily closed.
The initial medical assessment indicated that three people were injured. A 27-year-old woman and a man sustained severe multiple traumas and were airlifted by the SUC medical helicopter to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands and the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, respectively. A third individual, a woman, suffered moderate chest trauma and was transported by a basic life support ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
The accident caused significant traffic chaos and delays exceeding 45 minutes. Local Police and Guardia Civil de Tráfico diverted vehicles through secondary routes, which quickly became saturated. Maintenance crews from the Cabildo worked diligently to clear debris from the crashed vehicles and secure the roadway before its full reopening.
Island authorities have reiterated the importance of maintaining safe distances and exercising extreme caution on high-density traffic sections like the one in Los Realejos, an area with substantial average daily vehicle traffic on the island.
