The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced that the haze and heat episode will begin to subside in the Canary Islands this Monday, although temperatures of up to 30 ºC are still expected on several islands.

The episode of high temperatures and haze affecting the archipelago is starting to lose intensity. However, some inland and southeastern areas of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria could locally reach up to 30 ºC. Nights will remain mild in various coastal locations.
Maximum temperatures will experience a generalized decrease, being more noticeable in western areas and exposed mid-slopes. In the capitals, 22 ºC are expected in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 21 ºC in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Minimums will remain mild, leading to warm and even tropical nights in some coastal municipalities.
Winds will blow from the west, light to moderate, with strong gusts in exposed areas and very intense gusts on the summits. At sea, rough seas will persist with northwesterly swell. Despite the episode subsiding, the weather will remain warm for the time of year until at least Tuesday in various parts of the archipelago.
