A 64-year-old man was urgently evacuated by helicopter this Monday in Tenerife after experiencing anaphylactic shock caused by an insect bite while hiking.

The incident occurred on a trail in the municipality of Adeje, specifically on the path connecting Iserse to Tijoco. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the alert at 1:21 PM, reporting the need for medical assistance for a hiker.
Tenerife Firefighters were the first to reach the affected individual. They collaborated closely with the helicopter crew from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) to carry out the aerial evacuation of the man to the helipad in Adeje.
Upon landing, personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), along with a professional from the Adeje health center, provided immediate attention to the patient. He was experiencing a moderate anaphylactic reaction.
Finally, the man was transferred in a medicalized ambulance from the SUC, with primary care medical staff, to Hospiten Sur University Hospital for specialized treatment.
