The airline Iberia will be responsible for the air travel of Pope Leo XIV during his visit to Spain, which will include flights between Madrid, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife.

Spanish airline Iberia has been designated to operate the flights for Pope Leo XIV during his official visit to Spain, scheduled from June 6th to 12th. The Pontiff will travel between Madrid, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Rome.
The itinerary in the Canary Islands includes a stop in Gran Canaria on Thursday, June 11th, where he will participate in events related to migrant reception and officiate a mass at the Gran Canaria Stadium. The following day, Friday, June 12th, the Pope will travel from Gran Canaria to Tenerife North-Los Rodeos, arriving at 9:10 AM.
In Tenerife, Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to meet with migrants in Las Raíces, attend an event at the Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna, and preside over a solemn mass at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Following these events, the return flight to Rome will depart from Tenerife at 3:00 PM.
For this special operation, Iberia has prepared an aircraft to ensure the safety, comfort, and privacy of the Pontiff and his delegation. The cabin will feature details such as the papal crest on the access door and custom headrests with the Vatican emblem. Additionally, symbolic images will be incorporated, such as the Virgin of Montserrat on the Madrid-Barcelona flight and the Virgin of Candelaria, patron saint of the Canary Islands, on the flights to the islands.
The ambient music during the flight will be provided by the Escolania de El Escorial, a choir with whom the Pope shares a special connection, having belonged to the Order of Saint Augustine and served as its Father General.
