CB Canarias has announced the return of American shooting guard Kyle Guy for the next two seasons, reinforcing their roster after his successful spell in the 23-24 campaign.

The black and yellow club confirmed on Monday the signing of Guy, who previously played for them in the second half of the 2023-2024 season. In a statement, the club highlighted that the player was an "important part" of the island team's achievements, which included being runners-up in the BCL, semi-finalists in the Copa del Rey, and quarter-finalists in the Liga Endesa.
During his previous time on the island, Guy (born in Indiana in 1997) averaged 14.7 points and 2.1 assists in the 19 ACB games he played. In the Basketball Champions League, his averages were 21.5 points and 2.7 assists over eleven matches, as detailed by the team.
The 1.88-meter tall shooting guard played college basketball at the University of Virginia, where he won the NCAA championship in 2019 and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. After his college career, he played in the NBA (with the Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat) and the G-League (for the Stockton Kings, Cleveland Charge, and Sioux Falls Skyforce) before moving to Europe.
His European career includes a season with Joventut de Badalona (2022-2023), where he averaged 12.8 points in 40 ACB games. He then signed with Greece's Panathinaikos in the summer of 2023, before joining CB Canarias in January 2024.
Following his initial stint in Tenerife, Guy served as an assistant coach for the Virginia Cavaliers. He returned to playing with the Noblesville Boom (NBA G-League), the Shanxi Loongs in the Chinese league, and represented the senior United States national team in FIBA windows. Last season, he also competed in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
The announcement of his return was made via CB Canarias' social media channels with a video in which his compatriot Tim Abromaitis receives a call from Guy, confirming his comeback to the island.
