The Real Madrid Foundation has officially presented its summer football campus, which will be held in the Villa de Hermigua, on the island of La Gomera. This event marks the Foundation's only campus in the Canary Islands this season.
The presentation ceremony took place in the town hall's plenary hall, attended by the mayor of Hermigua, Solveida Clemente; the island's Sports Counselor for the Cabildo de La Gomera, Guillermo Medina; Hermigua's Sports Councilor, Sergio Chávez; and Félix González, Head of Institutional Relations for the Real Madrid Foundation. It was detailed that the program will run from August 10th to 14th and will host 100 boys and girls aged between 7 and 16 years old.
Activities will take place at the Hermigua municipal football field, an artificial turf facility suitable for sports practice, operating from 08:30 to 14:30, following the Foundation's standard institutional campus format.
For five days, participants will experience a program combining football training with the Real Madrid Foundation's educational methodology, called “For a Real Education: Values and Sport”. This approach focuses on holistic development through values such as respect, teamwork, equality, autonomy, and personal improvement.
The initiative is supported by the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, whose collaboration will help reduce costs for families and make this educational experience more accessible. This project underscores the joint commitment of the institutions and the Real Madrid Foundation to promoting sports and values-based education among the island's youth.
Through this campus, the Real Madrid Foundation continues to expand its territorial reach and reinforce its commitment to sport as a tool for personal development and community building. Registrations are now open on the Campus Experience website.
