The CajaCanarias Foundation is launching its Autumn Cultural 2026 program with a stage production that explores the search for transcendence. The play La inmortalidad, by the Canarian company Delirium Teatro, will be presented at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife this Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23, both performances at 8:00 PM.
Set in Spain in the seventies, during the dictatorship and the democratic transition, the play follows a group of young university students seeking to leave an indelible mark. The premature death of the Canarian poet Félix Francisco Casanova acts as a catalyst for reflecting on how to achieve immortality.
La inmortalidad delves into the human need to transcend and find meaning in existence, addressing the contradictions of a generation marked by great transformations. The memory of the poet serves as a focal point to explore youth, friendship, artistic creation, and collective memory.
