The La Laguna City Council has issued a notice to residents of the Northeast, advising them to avoid the TF-13 this Friday due to the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Tenerife.

The Local Police of La Laguna advises residents of Punta del Hidalgo, Tejina, Valle de Guerra, and Tegueste to take special precautions this Friday. It is recommended to avoid unnecessary travel on the TF-13, a key connection road to the metropolitan area, to prevent significant traffic jams.
The papal visit will involve traffic closures, parking restrictions, and occasional modifications to municipal services. These measures, according to the council, aim to ensure the safety of attendees and the smooth running of the event, which is expected to draw a large crowd to the historic center and other parts of the municipality.
The TF-13 will be closed from early morning between Las Mercedes and the connection with the TF-5. To mitigate complications, the Local Police suggest using alternative routes such as the TF-154 (between El Portezuelo and Las Toscas) and the TF-156 (known as the El Boquerón road).
Traffic closures will begin at 6:00 AM on Friday and will affect emblematic streets in the historic center of La Laguna, including Anchieta, Juan de Vera, Cabrera Pinto, Quintín Benito, Padre Herrera, and Santo Domingo. Connections to Las Mercedes and access to the Cristo square will also be modified.
Additionally, the Local Police may implement punctual diversions or restrictions on other streets depending on the procession's movement and the real-time vehicle flow.
