The day began at 7:00 PM with a solemn mass held inside the Cathedral of La Laguna. Following the religious service, the image of the patron saint was carried through the streets of the historic center, an area recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1999.
The procession route included iconic streets such as Juan de Vera, San Agustín, Núñez de la Peña, and La Carrera, before returning to the cathedral. Representatives of the Municipal Corporation participated in the event, accompanying the procession throughout the journey.
July 27, 1496, remains the traditional reference for the city's origin following the end of the conquest of Tenerife. Subsequently, in 1497, the Council was officially established, consolidating the town as a key administrative and cultural center in the island's history.
The Cathedral of Our Lady of Los Remedios, seat of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, served as the starting and ending point for the procession. The building is noted for its heritage value and its central location within the urban layout, which served as a model for other cities founded in the Atlantic region.
