Since the 17th century, La Librea has been a monthly event in Valle de Guerra every October, commemorating the Christian victory in the Battle of Lepanto (1571). This ritualized performance, lasting approximately 80 minutes, blends historical and religious events.
The event pays tribute to the Canarian soldiers who participated in the battle, led by captain Francisco Díaz Pimienta, and is held in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, patron saint of Valle de Guerra, to whom intercession in the victory is attributed.
La Librea de Valle de Guerra was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 2007, and a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands in 2026.
Supported by the Cultural Association Friends of La Librea, this reenactment has become a symbol of Valle de Guerra's cultural identity, passed down through generations and currently involving around 250 community members.
