The new artistic composition, installed in the small square between Avenida de Canarias and La Gomera and El Hierro streets, aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the official designation of the Fiestas de Mayo and pay tribute to this emblematic celebration.

Crafted from polyester resin with a bronze patina, the sculpture integrates iconic elements such as three life-size human figures: a maga (traditional dress) wearing the medal of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, a folklorist playing the timple (Canarian guitar), and a child holding two voladores (fireworks), with references to Calle El Sol and Calle El Medio. It also includes a replica of the Cross of the Mother Church of the Apostle Santiago.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by municipal representatives, festive groups, and residents. The sculpture was blessed by parish priest Ángelo Nardone and unveiled by the mayor alongside representatives from the associations Cruz de Calle El Sol and Cruz de Calle El Medio. Councilwomen Isabel Socorro and Alba Hernández also participated in the event.

During the event, the Agrupación Folclórica Acorán performed the Isa a Mayo, and local residents made a symbolic floral offering to the new cross. This initiative is part of the special program organized by the Los Realejos City Council to celebrate fifty years of the Fiestas de Mayo (1976-2026), adding a new heritage element to preserve these festivals, considered among the most emblematic in Tenerife.
