The Los Silos City Council has initiated the tender process for the rehabilitation of 25 homes and the improvement of the urban environment in the Las Canteras neighborhood, as part of the state housing access plan.

The Los Silos City Council has approved the tender for a project focused on the comprehensive rehabilitation of 25 homes and the redevelopment of their immediate surroundings in the Príncipe de Asturias residential complex, located in the Las Canteras neighborhood. This initiative, part of the state plan for housing access 2022-2025, marks the first time the municipality is utilizing this state funding to intervene in this development, aiming to eradicate degraded areas and improve residential zones.
The intervention will concentrate on enhancing accessibility, safety, and functionality for both the homes and the common areas. Works will include the adaptation and improvement of shared spaces, reorganization of the urban environment, and the implementation of measures to promote social cohesion and neighborhood integration.
The total investment for this project amounts to 381,340 euros. The majority of the budget, 74.76%, comes from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (285,072 euros). The remainder is covered by contributions from the Government of the Canary Islands (10%), the Island Council of Tenerife (10%), and the Los Silos City Council itself (5.24%).
The council anticipates that the tender process will conclude in the coming weeks, allowing for the immediate commencement of works upon awarding the contract. The municipal estimate places the award for early summer, ensuring a transparent and efficient project development, in line with the municipal strategy of improving infrastructure and urban environments to provide decent housing and more accessible neighborhoods.
