The local administration has opened a sanctioning file against the current manager, who owes at least three months of payments to the council. Furthermore, the employees' working conditions have been severely impacted, as they have reportedly not received their salaries since March.
Faced with this situation, the Los Silos City Council has decided not to renew the concession and has launched a new tender process to ensure the continuity of the service. The deadline for interested companies to submit their bids is May 21st.
“"We are working on it. We have already opened the sanctioning file and terminated the contract, not allowing for a new extension. Furthermore, the new tender process is already underway."
The new contract, which will last for four years with the possibility of extension, starts with a base budget of 11,335 euros. The municipal forecast is that the establishment, an art nouveau style structure built in 1930, will be able to resume its normal activity during the month of July.
