The LPA Emer-gente platform, driven by the LPA BMUSIC Festival, has broken its participation record, selecting 30 Canarian bands to perform at the Terraza de Las Arenas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria starting June 20th.

The initiative LPA Emer-gente, created within the LPA BMUSIC Festival framework, has exceeded all expectations in its latest call, registering a record number of both applications and selected bands. Ultimately, 30 groups will have the opportunity to perform at the Terraza de Las Arenas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria over several Saturdays from June 20th to August 22nd.
The organization highlighted the "musical quality, originality of projects, diversity of styles, and demonstrated talent" of the participants. Faced with this exceptional level, the event's management made the "exceptional decision" to expand the initial selection, accommodating more Canarian artists. "When talent overflows, rules are meant to be broken," they stated in a press release, emphasizing the "extraordinary moment" for emerging music in the Canary Islands and reaffirming their commitment to creating real opportunities for new musical projects.
For the 2026 edition, 72 acts from five islands registered, an unprecedented figure. María Ameneiros, communications manager for LPA BMUSIC Festival, confessed that the decision to select only 20 bands became "one of the most difficult decisions" after weeks of listening and deliberation, as "the artistic level of this edition far exceeded any forecast." Therefore, the choice was made to select 30 groups.

"Our goal with LPA Emer-gente is not just to choose a winner, but to provide a stage for as much Canarian talent as possible. This year, 30 bands will perform live over two months, ten more than last year."

Teresa Deudero · Director of LPA BMUSIC Festival
The LPA BMusic Festival, celebrating its thirteenth edition from September 11th to 13th, 2026, at Parque Litoral El Rincón in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will feature six of these 30 emerging bands on its main lineup. The live performance phase of LPA Emer-gente will commence on June 20th and run until August 22nd, with three acts each Saturday, transforming the Las Arenas Music venue into a showcase for Canarian musical talent.
The platform is consolidating itself as a distinct benchmark by offering 30 musical projects the chance to perform before a live audience on a professional stage for two months. Beyond competing for a spot in the grand finale, participants will gain visibility and connect with the audience every Saturday.
