The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the SCS has emphasized the importance of regular blood donation, recommending at least twice a year. The goal is to maintain sufficient reserves for surgical interventions, oncological treatments, transplants, emergencies, and other healthcare needs in Canary Islands hospitals.
It is recalled that blood and its components cannot be artificially manufactured, making voluntary and periodic donation the only way to guarantee their availability. Each donation can benefit multiple individuals, offering a new chance to those facing complex medical situations.
To facilitate public participation, various campaigns with mobile units have been organized, and fixed points will remain active on all islands. In Tenerife, mobile units will visit the Añaza Shopping Center (Monday), the Meridiano Shopping Center (Wednesday), San Juan de la Rambla (Monday), the Alcampo Shopping Center in La Laguna (Tuesday), Los Realejos (from June 30 to July 3), the Nuestra Señora de África Market in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (July 1), and the El Rosario Agricultural Market (Thursday).
Other donation points on the island include the El Trompo Multicenter in La Orotava (Monday to Friday), the Plaza de la Catedral in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Friday and Saturday), and collections will take place in El Toscal Longueras and the El Rosario Agricultural Market.
In addition to these mobile campaigns, the fixed donation points in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Méndez Núñez) and at the San Isidro Health Center in Granadilla de Abona will continue to be operational from Monday to Friday, offering extended hours to facilitate donations.
In Gran Canaria, mobile units will be at San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Maspalomas House of Culture), El Tablero, Vecindario (Avenida de Canarias), the Multiple Use Building II and I, and the Alcampo Shopping Center. Collections will also be held at Lopesan Hotels and the General Directorate of Traffic in Las Palmas, as well as at the Alisios and Buenavista Shopping Centers.
Fuerteventura will host campaigns in Pájara (in front of La Lajita church and near the Town Hall), and Lanzarote will have a donation point at the Deiland Shopping Center.
