Tenerife-born footballer Pedro Rodríguez will play his last game for Lazio this Saturday, marking the end of a three-year period with the Roman club where he established himself as a key figure.

The player, originally from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and aged 38, announced his decision via the club's social media channels, expressing his sadness at the end of this "beautiful journey and splendid family." Rodríguez stated that he had defended Lazio's colors "with courage, humility, ambition, and passion."
Despite not winning any trophies during his tenure, the footballer expressed confidence that the team will celebrate "something important soon" with his teammates. "Every time I entered the field and looked up, I admired with pride," he added.
The match against Pisa will be Pedro's last in a Lazio shirt. The player called on fans to accompany him in the stadium, while also acknowledging the current club situation and potential low attendance due to a strike by a segment of the fanbase against the board.
Rodríguez, a 2010 World Cup winner with the Spanish national team, joined Lazio in 2021 from Roma, in a historic transfer between the capital's rival clubs. His contract, renewed in June 2025, was set to run until June 30, 2026.
During his time at the club, the Canary Islands attacker became a crucial player both in the locker room and on the field, proving decisive in key moments and earning legendary status among the fans. Although he took on a more secondary role in recent seasons, he was a regular option for coach Maurizio Sarri.
The player's future remains uncertain, although he has repeatedly expressed his desire to end his career at Lazio.
