Pope Leo XIV's visit to Tenerife will include a significant social event in La Laguna, where he will meet with migrants and organizations working on social assistance. This gathering aims to provide the Pontiff with a direct insight into the migratory reality affecting the Canary Archipelago, a community that has experienced a constant influx of migrants in recent years.
The conclusion of his stay in Spain will be marked by a large religious celebration in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This mass is expected to draw over 50,000 faithful to the capital's port area. The organizers have indicated that participation in this event will require prior registration, given the anticipated high attendance and the need for orderly access management.
“"The agenda is not yet finalized because there are still almost two months until the visit."
For the preparation and execution of the various events, the organization of the papal visit will require a large team of volunteers. It is estimated that approximately 1,500 collaborators will be needed to cover all logistical requirements. So far, about 1,000 people have already registered, and the diocese continues its recruitment campaign to complete the necessary number.
