On Canary Islands Day, a regional holiday, numerous establishments in Tenerife will be open, particularly in tourist areas, adjusting their hours to serve the public.

This coming May 30th, Canary Islands Day, many establishments on the island of Tenerife will open their doors, despite it being a regional holiday. Regulations allow businesses located in High Tourist Congestion Zones greater flexibility in their operating hours and days.
Regarding supermarkets, Mercadona will operate on a half-day schedule in most of its Tenerife centers, opening from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Chains such as HiperDino, Lidl, Aldi, and El Corte Inglés Supermarkets will also keep most of their establishments operational. Groups like Jesuman, TuTrébol, TuAlteza, and La Hucha plan to open during their usual hours.
Major shopping centers will also be open. Leisure and shopping hubs like Siam Mall and Rosa Center in the south, the Centro Comercial Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz, as well as Meridiano, Alcampo, Carrefour Añaza, Mediamarkt, Nivaria Center, and El Corte Inglés, will operate normally during their usual hours.
Essential services will remain operational. Pharmacies on duty will provide 24-hour service, and most gas stations will function normally. Activity is also expected from bakeries and 24-hour convenience stores. The food and beverage sector, including bars and cafes, will decide their opening, with the possibility of extending terrace hours in coastal areas.
Given the possibility of last-minute changes or variations by municipality, citizens are advised to consult the official search tools of each chain or shopping center before planning their outings.
