A 21-year-old man was arrested in La Laguna, Tenerife, last Saturday following a police chase where he rode a stolen motorcycle recklessly, including driving against traffic on several streets.

The incident began in the Taco area, within the municipality of La Laguna, when a Local Police patrol approached a man on a motorcycle. Upon noticing the police presence, the driver, who was allegedly on a stolen vehicle, attempted to flee.
The pursuit extended through several roads, including the Carretera General del Rosario and Vallehermoso and Nivaria streets. During the escape, the motorcyclist repeatedly drove against traffic, creating a dangerous situation. Eventually, a private vehicle blocked his path, causing him to collide with parked motorcycles and continue his escape on foot.
The individual was intercepted and arrested by the La Laguna Local Police near an occupied building on París Street. Following his arrest, it was confirmed that the young man, allegedly linked to the notorious Añaza Gang, has a police record for crimes such as covering up a murder, violent robberies, and thefts.
His record includes an alleged connection to the cover-up of the murder of a resident from El Cardonal, which occurred in late July 2025, a case that caused significant shock in the Canary Islands. Additionally, he is accused of causing material damage to two cars and another motorcycle during the chase. The arrested individual was taken to the National Police Station in La Laguna, awaiting judicial disposition.
