Canarian producer Suga7, real name Agustín López, releases his new EP 'Wasted Vol. 2', a project that fuses contemporary breakbeat with old skool influences.

Breakbeat, a genre with deep roots in the Canarian music scene, particularly in Tenerife, continues to evolve thanks to artists like Suga7. This producer updates broken rhythms with a personal perspective, demonstrating the style's enduring vitality.
Suga7, whose real name is Agustín López, confesses that his passion for breakbeat stemmed from the influence of drum and bass and old skool. Although he experienced the early days of old skool in the Canary Islands, it was Andalusian breakbeat, through sets by DJs such as Rasco, Man, and Anita Breaks, that opened up a new sonic universe for him around 2011.
Music has been a constant in López's life; he recalls asking for pianos and drum kits for Christmas. A serious football injury at the young age of 15 led him to dedicate himself fully to his musical calling.
His latest work, 'Wasted Vol. 2', reflects this duality between the new and the old. "I wanted a fusion between old skool and current breakbeat that transports you to the past but sounds like the present," explains Suga7. The EP features three tracks selected from over ten compositions, aiming for a coherent and narrative line.
Throughout his career, Suga7 has maintained a recognizable sonic identity, despite exploring different styles within broken rhythms. "I believe that over time, and despite all my influences, when you hear a track of mine, you know it's mine," he states. He has moved through more old skool, 2step/garage, and breaks sounds, without losing his essence.
With over a decade of experience and a hundred productions to his name, Suga7 remains active. He will soon release new tracks digitally and has two important summer dates confirmed. Additionally, he has revived his house music project, Alopz, initiated years ago, with new productions planned for 2027.
In a parallel section, DJ Ana Pak defines herself as an afro house and indie-dance artist, highlighting her ability to mix electronic genres. Her stage name combines 'Ana', from her real name Anastasia, with 'Pak', her mother's surname and a common Korean surname, seeking a name that is easy to remember and reflects her roots.
Ana Pak confesses a fondness for rap, especially UK rap, as her only listening genre outside of electronic music. In her sets, artist Adam Ten is a constant presence, whose tracks fit perfectly on the dance floor. The DJ has experienced surreal requests, such as being asked to play 'Happy Birthday' mid-set, and strange situations, like performing to just two people.
Reflecting on dedication to music, Ana Pak describes how DJs sacrifice sleep, relationships, and personal time, prioritizing music and receiving great satisfaction in return.
