A youth category football match at the Tíncer field in Santa Cruz de Tenerife was suspended this Friday, May 29, after a group of fans invaded the pitch.

The game, which pitted Unión Deportiva Campana against Arcángel San Miguel B, was the second leg of the promotion playoff to Cadete Preferente. Arcángel San Miguel B held a lead from the first leg, having won 3-0.
The incidents occurred during the match when a group of fans entered the field, triggering a confrontation that later escalated into an exchange of recriminations between supporters of both teams.

The incident occurs just weeks after another serious episode in Tenerife football.

This event is reminiscent of another serious incident that occurred a few weeks ago in Tenerife football, when the youth team CD Verdellada suffered a similar incident after a promotion playoff match. On that occasion, the club reported physical assaults on the coach and a player, as well as objects being thrown at the team's bus, which resulted in broken windows. The CD Verdellada squad had to remain in the locker room and leave the facilities under escort by the Local Police.
