New motorhome service area in La Guancha, Tenerife.

The Tenerife Island Council has inaugurated the first public and free motorhome service area in the North of the Island at the La Guancha Logistics Center, offering essential services to prevent unauthorized dumping.

The new facility allows motorhome users to perform key operations such as emptying black and grey water tanks, and refilling with potable water. This free service aims to prevent waste disposal in unsuitable areas, including environmentally sensitive zones.
With this opening, La Guancha joins Arona and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (with its Jagua Waste Disposal Center) as municipalities on the island with this type of infrastructure. The island corporation reported that the initiative responds to a long-standing demand from motorhome associations and seeks to balance the growth of itinerant tourism with territorial protection.
The initial service points have already recorded significant usage, with 166 users during their first month of operation. Of these, 69 were registered in Arona and 97 at the Jagua Waste Disposal Center, highlighting the demand for these facilities.
The Island Council plans to progressively expand this model to other waste disposal centers across Tenerife, extending the network of specific services for motorhomes. The mayor of La Guancha, Alejandro Herrera Luis, emphasized that the new point will serve not only the municipality but also neighboring towns in the region.
The service hours for the facilities in La Guancha, Jagua, and Arona are as follows: Mondays from 08:00 to 16:00; Tuesdays to Fridays from 08:00 to 20:00; Saturdays from 09:00 to 20:00; and Sundays from 09:00 to 14:00.
