In statements made during an insular committee of the Tenerife PSOE, Raya emphasized the importance of the presumption of innocence in the so-called Plus Ultra case. She warned that the damage caused when an investigation concludes without results is irreparable, not only for the individual and their political career but also for their family.
The socialist leader acknowledged that the imputation of Rodríguez Zapatero has been an emotional blow to the party. She noted that, unlike other parties, these situations deeply affect the PSOE, as they go against its commitment to citizen dignity, democratic health, and good politics.
Raya regretted that these circumstances harm all political parties and democratic quality in general, especially in a context where the "far-right is in question."
